关于部门

With VR and 3D technologies, producers and theatre groups can benefit from the digital twin of a specific scene on the stage or even the entire theatre building. With 360 panorama images, one can produce virtual tours and virtual plans in a virtual setting. In addition to virtual reality, one can also use 3D photogrammetry to record coloured 3D point clouds that can accurately be used for virtual management, such as building construction, emergency response, floor planning, stage design and scene reproduction. On a broader scope, these digital twins can be used to reshape the audience’s experience in performance, including live presentation, live presentation with digital, and digital-only performance. Digitalising the stage design can also protect the creative team’s confidentiality and IP when a performance is archived.

数据收集

The Civetta is used to capture 360×180° HDR panorama images for indoor and outdoor areas, perfectly suitable for digitally replicating classrooms, hallway, physical buildings, and outdoor scenes. The VR tour and 3D models captured by the Civetta, including geographical location and measurement data, are essentials metadata for developing the digital twin portfolios. The I-Detics photogrammetry camera is used to develop a customised digital capture system for documents and historic files of the public sectors.

Through capturing HDRi images, the creative team can then use it for rendering, CG and other post-production. As mentioned previously, a high-quality virtual performance might need the HDRi source from the initial stage of the theatre or opera house. As Civetta has 230 megapixels, its images are precise enough to be used for entertainment purposes, such as film making and advertisement design.

数据管理

All data captured can be stored and managed in the Visual Asset Management System. The system combines complex measuring techniques and advanced data processing with a user-friendly interface and various options for individual system customisation. The result is a highly flexible, high-performance system delivering easily understood condition information straight to the user. Along with the image and 3D models captured in the field, other digital assets are collectively managed in the Visual Asset Management System VAM2 provided by Weiss AG.

A comprehensive digital twin of the cultural heritage can be produced via the VAM2. A multidisciplinary group can work collaboratively to support the development and use of digital heritage files. 2D/3D data of the heritage can be captured over time for comparison, analysis and evaluation purposes.

服务

影响

  • Showcase a performance design and production process

  • Share VAM2 as a plug-in on your website to enable online engagement with your audience or the general public.

  • Virtually design and review each scene, clothes, accessories and other objects related to the performance.

  • Virtually connect VR tour, 3D model, videos, audios and other digital assets to visualise a pilot/design idea.

  • Virtually record the stage design or performance and document it for IP and licenses.

  • Develop digital twins for different halls and stages of theatre or opera houses.

  • Develop virtual tours for emergency response or floor planning.

  • Enable greater transparency of project progress and information exchange by attaching the VAM2 URL or profile in email, message or group presentations.

Better Engagement

Virtual documentation and presentation of the theatre and stage provide access to theatre-related projects for different stakeholders, including the public audience, stage performer and manager. Through combining various media, sources can enrich the storytelling process. Clients can access, review, comment, and update stage design and theatre set to engage throughout any project phase. Besides, virtual tour and virtual training can also be done on the VAM2 site and video, audio, websites and documents. Examples include connecting the digital twin of a stage scene to video performance, pilot, actors’ CVs, music, 360 videos and more. Visitors can also engage through the VAM2 and understand a designed scene, pilot, the performance, or even the entire theatre. It is significantly crucial in cases like a global pandemic.

Reduce Risk

With the VAM2, users can visually foresee the stage conditions and design scenes on a virtual stage. Different stakeholders can review the design concept and pre-installation draft throughout the process and update and visualise the relationship between various visual assets, regardless of their file type or size. Each scene of a musical/opera/performance can be documented with the Civetta quickly, along with their measurement data and location of the objects with other objects in the scene. Transparency and real-time updates can reduce errors and unnecessary costs.

IP & Licensing Protection

Civetta and VAM2 help to accurately document archived stage design and scene settings, which can register IP and licenses. Artists and producers can commercially sell their plans to other companies while protecting their rights and interests. The stage’s size and location are related to audiences, as well as the scene-setting on the stage, can be documented via 360 panorama images or 3D colour models. These visual assets recorded on the scene during the preparation can be combined with other essential documents such as performance recording, soundtracks, scripts and other marketing materials as a digital portfolio. The performance company can sell it to other companies or groups for performance duplications or productions.

These can also be used toward a comprehensive documentation database for store a company’s previous stage design/performance design, and create a complete digital portfolio for these companies.

Project Management and Design

With the VAM2, designers, performers and other professionals can communicate about the project while using visual assets as supporting materials. It helps to reduce communication errors and enable a more transparent workflow among different parties. The creative team can also use the simulation for marketing purposes, where the marketing team can have access and download the models or draft directly via the VAM2. Throughout the entire performance project, different parties can actively update materials to complete a digital portfolio which can later be used for other commercial purposes.
