About Sector

Cultural heritage organisations and museums created digitally or converted into digital forms from existing analogue resources. A digital twin of the cultural heritage can be used for better documentation, maintenance, reproduction, reconstruction, promotion and related project management purposes.

Data Collection

The Civetta is the most precise and easy-to-use panorama camera that can be used to capture different forms of cultural heritage, both indoor and outdoor, above the mountain or underground. 360×180° HDR images are captured for viewing, analysis, communication and documentation purposes. The I-Detic is used to capture part of the physical building or specific objects; it can be used in combination with the Civetta to increase the accuracy of the 3D photogrammetry models. Both the hardware can be operated in critical situations with the simple capturing method. Staffs in the factory can capture digital data periodically by themselves right after simple training. The I-Detic is IP68 waterproof and radiation-free, which can be used for inaccessible regions or wet areas.

Data Management

All data captured can be stored and managed in the Visual Asset Management System. The system combines complex measuring techniques and advanced data processing with a user-friendly interface and various options for individual system customisation. The result is a highly flexible, high-performance system delivering easily understood condition information straight to the user. Along with the image and 3D models captured in the field, other digital assets are collectively managed in the Visual Asset Management System VAM2 provided by Weiss AG.

A comprehensive digital twin of the cultural heritage can be produced via the VAM2, and a multidisciplinary group can work collaboratively to support the development and use of the digital heritage files. 2D/3D data of the heritage can be captured over time for comparison, analysis and evaluation purposes.
